Make you smile make you grin

We come from worlds so alike. Yet we are so far apart.
Feeding this new friendship, attempting a new start.
Our paths seem so parallel, walking side by side.
Past pain tapping on our shoulders looking for a ride.
You present me with questions of what things I can do.
With a quick response I reply, this is just for you.
I can do things that you may never see, and may never see again.
Things that can make you smile, and things that make you grin.
Things that touch you on your heart, pulling at your strings.
Sending shivers down your spine. These are those things.
Can we ever get together? Can we ever close the gap?
Can we ever hold each other, like presents tightly wrapped?
Will it ever come to pass, for you and I to be?
Or will we remain distant friends that we may never see?
