Losing Love

Losing love is like broken strings
On a one keyed piano of black and white
It's white knuckles and clenched teeth
And all you held dear losing sight

It's like climbing a cladder with one rung
A slammed door on a vast horizon
A journey over before it's ever begun
It's Hercules minus the titan
With no one to be strong for
No one to hold onto

Losing love is like shattering a glass
And watching as the shards jump astray
Like watching all you have, break
And you can't look away

Your heart, your soul, and all your feeling
Your breadth of wonder and painted ceilings
Flash out of this world in a single breath
And life becomes the profound silence of death
Losing love.
