Letters. Photographs. Memories.

Letters-
Folded ever so gently into two neat halves,
With every word crafted out of that unconditional love,
With every funky doodle and smudged lips prints,
color of a carrot -that awful lipstick we used to steal
from mom's make-up drawer-
Are mine to keep forever

Photographs-
Class pictured dressed in white and brown uniforms,
With you sitting in the front row like a sunflower
in the middle of the field, bright and innocent.
Family portraits, recitals, shots with our dog in the snow
and us being inseparable-
All mine to keep forever.

Memories-
Passed midnight conversations about boys,
Piano played together in four-hand pieces by Bach,
Juvenile fights, accompanied by red noses and embrace upon resolution.
Your face! Gorgeous yet serious, relaxed yet fearless,
kind and remarkably honest-
All mine to keep forever.

Letters. Photographs. Memories.
All that is left from you, my Sister!
All mine to keep forever...
