Labeled A Fool

I'm simply labeled a fool for
trying to help my fellow man.
And constantly criticized,
a puppet without a plan.

They say my time is squandered,
tending to the sick and weak.
Why care for such vagabonds,
they're best left on the street?

They insist I play their game,
and adopt their point of view.
Surely I must be crazy,
to worry the way I do.

They warn me not to trust losers,
their misery was meant to be.
And for those who love you not,
walk on by like you don't see.

Why suffer another's pain,
they ask of me every day?
And yet if I believe God,
there isn't any other way.
