It's Funny How

It's funny how your life becomes filled with nicknacks,
Consumed by collections gathered either here or there,
Filling the vast voids of our heavy homes in devious displays.
A minimalist man might jump at the sight,
of all of these shifty shelves borrowing bookspace.

It's funny how your head can be filled with vast wanderings and wonderings,
Imagining moments or trying to define our time,
As our brains bask in glimmers of sunlight cast by creation,
Or as we soak inside our shapely sheets dreaming of tomorrow.

It's funny how we avoid being baptized in the rushing rain,
Scurrying and scattering towards our nearby nooks.
Why do we worry of being so wet?
Our ancient ancestors would surely laugh at our perceived problems,
Although they would also march into McDonalds never having imagined a more amazing meal.

It's funny how time flies by and everything evolves,
One day you're young and the next day your describing the good old days,
Remembering those fickle fads and odd occurrences in everyone's lives.

It's funny how surreal and strange life can be,
and how all of these odd people ended up in our lives,
Splashing across our tv screens or engaging us in funny facts.
What an interesting and strange world we've grown upon,
and what a joy to sit back and reflect on such a wonderful world.
