Our Actions Are Ripples Upon the Human Pond

A man came to me the other day,
And what he would say, could change your ways.

He said, "Never forget that you can change the world. Everything you do has an effect on the world like water drops rippling across the human pond." And after this he went on, " Small changes in everyone's life, can have big changes on humanity's strife. So when conflicts in your life arise, remove yourself from all their lies."

I pondered at the amazing insight,
Was everything he said just right?

I looked back at the past and saw some truth,
Though this man seemed odd and eerily aloof.

As I passed this man, just a bum on the street,
I paused for a moment, before entering the store for a treat.

I grabbed myself some food and a drink,
And got the man something after I began to think.

"Here." I said after handing him a snack.
"I was about to rob this place before you said that."

"I know." He said. "I saw your gun."
"How do you think I became a bum?"

"Thanks!" I said after the amazing insight.
It's amazing how another's actions can change your life.

After that day, I was never the same,
I even founded a charity in the bum's name.

And now I know what actions can do,
So instead of helping myself, I'll help you too.

If you're ever down or if you're ahead,
Never forget what that man said.
