Into Autumn

The breeze is gently playing
With the leaves of my favorite tree

And the warmth of the sun has a comfort
As its heat encompasses me

Summer is holding on here
Even yet as the mornings turn cool

While the dew on a fine spun web
Shimmers like a priceless jewel

I long to hold on to Summer, even though I
love Autumn's soft rain

Something about summer's exit
Leaves a sadness I just can't explain

Ellen Eaton

Sitting back for a moment to write about my life in poetry form keeps things in perspective. And especially now, as I lost my beloved husband so recently. He was my heart, my soul, my greatest love and my best friend. Everything I did was magic in his eyes. I've lost my most loyal fan. But I'll catch up with him soon enough, what a reunion that will be! more…
