Index of A Little Mercy

Stop-gap;
/When we were much younger
And we smiled wide-miled sunset in our teeth
It was natural to dare to bleed in other colors.
/Rainbow-strike;
Now it takes a strong arm to get a nod out of you
And a choke-hold and torture to get an audience.
What happened to the back-flips and the running?
Running for no reason at all. . . . ?
/Except that we could. . .
And sweat was for free. . .
Easier to share,
A river of memory still runs through your ears;
While I licked the salt from your lips
That dreaming, I had put there.

Tracy Bollinger

Always liked to write and have written poems periodically over the years. I've never shared them withanyone except for immediate family. Decided to take the plunge and put some out 'there'. But bearwith me, I don't really know what I'm doing. This is therapy of sorts and I hope to let go of the need to rhyme. It's a mental condition. I recently found out my grandmother used to rhyme all herletters to anyone. Go figure. I hope you all enjoy my ranting! I do like what I've seen other's post. more…
