I'll Miss You

I’ll Miss You

Just like yesterday, we were sneaking off to Shipley’s
missing the bus, playing in the dust on Grove Street.
Can’t really remember, perhaps one September,
We met way, way back,
So long I can’t keep track, my Friend.

Times have changed,
and some people around here have grown strange,
but I can tell by your sweet same smile,
you kept your style.

I got a word yesterday that you’re not around,
So I’m kind of down,
but what I’ll do is think on the crazy days,
the times we played and ran away to eat wild berries.
I may cry for a while, but then I’ll smile as I miss you, my friend forever.

Dynisha Cole

I grew up as a young girl, living in ghettos in Mississippi with great expectations. I enjoyed Classical Music and I had an appreciation for many things that were not common in my house or neighborhood. I joined the Army National Guard at the age of seventeen and served for eight years while in school. I obtained a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi with the hopes to become an oral surgeon, but writing has always been my passion. Although I have been writing since I was very young, most of my current themes reflect a great change that happened in my life in February 2005. When I hit rock bottom after moving from Chandler, Arizona, Jesus Christ saved my soul and gave me a new hope. Because of the different geographical regions I've lived in, and the cultural differences I was exposed to, I can relate to many types of people. Out of all of the experiences, any achievements and abilities I may seem to have, I offer and owe all the glory to Him, my inspiration. Now I live in a small town, I have a husband and three busy boys that keep me laughing and praying. I am continually encouraged by the love of my church family at Dunn's Memorial in Austin TX. I have a mother, father, step mother, sisters, a brother, aunts, and uncles and friends that I pray my life will be an encouragement to. more…
