How Weird The Ostrich

How weird the ostrich, how absurd the stand:
they seek protection with heads in the sand.

How weird the cities, how absurd the crowds:
they seek protection with heads in the clouds.

How weird the rebels, how absurd the fates:
they seek protection with heads on death plates.

How weird the comics, how absurd the wits:
they seek protection with heads in the pits.

How weird the faddists, how absurd the craze:
they seek protection with heads in the maze.

How weird the gripers, how absurd the bark:
they seek protection with heads in the dark.

How weird the ostrich, how absurd the stand:
they seek protection with heads in the sand.
