Her Maimed Soul

the sequel to “Unearthly” http://www.poetry.com/poems/577700-Unearthly-

So faint she got, but also strong
For mental wounds heal very slow.
Her maimed soul hums a song
Of girl whose pain can only grow.

Her memory sends her back in time
When air was imbued with smell
Of love begetting flawless rhyme.
Through silence our hearts can tell.

She does remember brown eyes,
His caring and amatory stare.
Her body gets all paralyzed
As flashback turns into nightmare.

Those humans ruined the abode,
The world in which she used to love.
Since then her lips have felt the cold –
The time of bliss was not enough.

She boldly looked into the barrel,
Feeling the shadow of death.
Like ailing rose losing petals
Her blind love drew its last breath.

The one she loved lay on the ground,
Had hidden her from fatal shot.
And poignant tears lacked for sound
The heart retains what eyes forgot.

So faint she got, but also strong
For mental wounds heal very slow.
Her maimed soul hums a song
Of girl whose pain can only grow.
