Her Life Struggle

Her heart is torn and bruised,
And her lips are sealed with fear,
Her soul is heavy with shame,
And eyes are cascading tears,
The levy of emotion finally breaks,
And she begins to shout,
Her anger and frustrations,
And her fears and self doubt,
Her heart rate goes out of control,
As she tells her story in a single breath,
Of the car crash that killed her mother,
And of the abuse since her mothers death,
The crimson tears roll down her face,
Painting me a watercolor portrait of her pain,
Of the years of being abused,
By the fist and words of ridicule and shame,
He trashed her mind with deceit,
His ridiculing words littered her heart,
Spitting fire daily into her soul,
The words tear her apart,
She longs for the days of peace,
When her father would put down his bottle,
When he would think straight and was sober,
And life was less of a struggle,
But those days are now few and rare,
And she knows she must leave him,
For her years have been filled with fear,
Now anger is overflowing her souls brim,
So she goes with only a suitcase,
Filled with letters from her mother,
And postcards before the crash,
When life was filled with wonder,
So leaves her past,
Hoping to finally find peace and renewal,
In a world of tribulations and chaos,
Keeping on her new journey, the constant struggle.
