Heated Fights

Heated fights
Meet silent lies
I'm squinting just to see
A little gleam of light
I'm peering through the darkness
Just to find
Nothing
But the thickening black of night

I'm not afraid of losing
Cause the war's already won
But the battle is much harder
When it seems
That the sun's not on your side

Smiling hope
Heals a crying heart
That wonders why it was broken
From the start

Was I so blind
Not to see the beauty
Of the loving Father
Who found me
Before I even began to search?

Just when this fight
Began to get worse,
I finally see victory
On the horizon!

I am only fourteen, and don't write poetry often (although more than the average teenager), so here are my best pieces. My inspiration is solely my relationship with Jesus Christ, and what He has revealed to me in His word! :-) more…
