He Left Me

The air is growing cold,
I cross my arms and shiver.
I feel the wind touch me
And my lips begin to quiver.

I call out his name
Once more; he doesn't come.
I lay down to get some sleep;
My body goes numb.

I cuddle his leather jacket,
I lay the material on top of me.
I realize it won't do any good;
I need him next to me.

I can imagine he is warm;
I need his body heat to survive.
Then I scream out his name,
And pray he is still alive.

If he doesn't show up soon,
I'm afraid he'll leave me to die.
Then I softly whisper his name,
And after that a goodbye.
