Faded From Existence

Smoke blackens the sky; blocks the light that once shone on this town,
My heart sinks deep, watching everything I knew come crashing down.
The air begins to grow colder, as the darkness comes and hovers over,
It's hard to see, the chaos erupting before me,
But I can feel the suffering and misery tingling through my body.

This was my home. This IS my home.

It is destroyed, in ruins, bloody bodies everywhere of the ones I love,
Some are injured, broken; some are gone, their spirits taken above.
And here I am, still alive,
But I don't feel alive.
I am a lifeless soul; all I can do is stand here before this horrific image
As the pain starts to take its toll.
I fall to the ground, shaking,
This devastation makes me weak;
I can't stand it, choking on tears,
I can no longer speak.
But still I pray to God that none of this is real, that I will awaken tomorrow,
And all of this will be healed.
That all of it will have just been a cruel dream.
So I lie my head down, close my bloodshot eyes,

Keep praying out as my heart cries.

And in an instant,
It's all gone.
Everything just faded from existence.
