Funeral Of Memories

As I journey into my Empty Garden,
on my way to dig another hole;
to bury these memories I keep,
which binds and burdens my soul.

I think of your smile,
and how it made me feel;
in my heart always knowing,
that together we could heal.

As sink my shovel into the sand,
to make the hole go deeper;
I know why nothing grows here,
because I am the only keeper.

I remember your words,
as the wounds turn to scars;
still bleeding within my heart,
I seek to lock behind these bars.

As I look around my Empty Garden,
I feel the desolation and misery;
memories of rejected despair,
here alone, I will always be.

My memory of arms around you,
holding each other so tightly, I see;
I shall place into this deepest hole,
it's survival, to keep it from killing me.

As I place this memory into the ground,
knowing I have lost my lovely friend;
I water the lonely dirt with my tears,
standing in the bitter wind of the end.
