You were the one that held my hand

I loved you more than anyone.
You meant the world to me.
Since you passed on, I have hurt so much
How could that ever be?
I never thought that "grandma"
would be such a special name.
Now I have grandchildren of my own
I understand the game.
A Grandmother is the one
that is always there for you
No matter how right or wrong
she loves you through and through.
I hope, somehow, that I can be
as special as you are.
So I will will have a special place
some days among the stars.
