Expressions of Cats and Dogs

What are you thinking when you look at us with sleepy eyes?
What are you sensing when you look around with alert eyes?
Are you really sad when you look at us with sad eyes?
Do you really feel anger?
We humanize you, personify you as a way to explain.
We see what you are feeling through your actions,
but to look at your face, into your eyes.
What do you think when you look at us?
Are we disturbing your restful repose?
Are we teasing you with foods you can’t eat?
Are we tempting your tastebuds with poisonous smells?
Do you understand our emotions and actions?
Do you see in our eyes what we see in yours?
