Ever

Ever wanted someone so much,
Then learned you were out of touch?
Ever needed someone so bad,
Then ended up being very sad?

You really wish they were good,
And could be the person they should.
But you know that everything is wrong.
And with them, you don't belong.

You become hardened down inside;
Perhaps to save your damaged pride.
Right no longer matters any more,
When your heart is so very sore.

Facing a love that will never be true,
Leaves you weak and feeling so blue.
They have no heart, nor have a soul.
But how are you supposed to know?

Emptiness overwhelms your mind,
When you realize you were blind.
Shame and pain is all that remains,
When questioning you own brains.

Ever wanted someone so much,
Then learned you were out of touch?
Ever needed someone so bad,
Then ended up being very sad?
