Elegy for Dr. G.E.A. Izuorah

Dedicated and devoted
He did his best
His soul has now flown far away
Shedding its sweetness day and night
To the absurd claim of death.

We thought bitterly
Of those deploring things
But when we steadfastly gazed
He lay like a hero
Taking his rest
Poised to continuing his work
Which the world much required still.

But his heart was tired
Many years ago when death disturbed
The balance of his nerves
For emergency exit out of life.

Yet he clutched to life
For the benevolent work of all
But now he let it be
At least to die in peace.
