Distance is the Enemy

My heart keeps on crying
and part of me is dying
everyday while we are apart.

My love, you are not here
but your spirit is so dear.
It's inside of my soul and heart!

I tell you that I love you
but the words just seem so mild.
There is no way to show you just how deep!

And while you rest my darling
I am sending you my smile.
But still my heart is aching now.
I need you when I sleep!

Please say that you are happy
and that your life's not empty.
And I will pray for you all the day.

And while we fight the distance
and miles become our enemy,
please just know that I will never fall astray.

For in my life you are the man
who brought my dreams to life.
And now you are my lover
and I pray to end your strife....

And we will live together
and will prove our love is true.
There is noone on this small earth
that I love more than you!

You are my heart! I love you....

Carmen Cheryll Popp Goskowicz

Poetry and expression through words and music and live speaking, have always been an outlet for my joy and sadness. When life is not what we desire, and when chaos becomes an everyday thing for some people, it is easy to find a way to share my feelings with the world through the written word. My mother passed this down through me through her heritage and genes, and my father through his strong exaggerated language. I hope and pray that my love of poetic expression will be passed down as well, to my 3 beautiful children Jeremiah, Jacob and SherissaMarie. God bless you all! more…
