Day I Almost Lost my Dad

We said a prayer for the souls at rest
When my dad, suddenly just held his chest

I had no clue of what, was to unfold
Probably indigestion, is what I was told

The pain didn't cease, but strong it grew
A Heart Attack! could it be true?

Along the way my car just stalled
Was death trying to make sure my dad was called?

A million thoughts raced through my mind
I needed to stay focused and leave emotions behind

We fought our way and reached in time
They operated quickly and now my dad is fine.

Death took my mum and wanted dad too
But it was not his time, even Jesus knew

I just thank the Lord for my prayers were heard
My dad's alive, his departure's deferred
