Dark Cruise

Old men snoring on the lounges.
Fat women waddle to buffets.
Unattended children holler.
These are the daily matinees.

Ports of call have vultures waiting.
Overpriced excursions ensnare.
Products cost less at home purchase.
This is part of the bill of fare.

Mediocre entertainment.
Activities to dull the mind.
Blaring noise in lieu of music.
These are displayed for all to find.

Hurry to wait is the motto.
Everywhere there's another line.
Start with boarding, lunch and dinner.
This, indelibly, is the sign.

Cruise directors feign odd humor.
Art auctioneers speak fast and loud.
Service agents hold their palms out.
These fabricate the cruising crowd.

Nautical terminology.
"Knots, aft, forward, starboard and port,
Depth finders, side thrusters" and more.
This jargon for the ship resort.
