Dark Circles

Too many things to do at once
yet there is still time
to stand in front of the mirror
curious as to how much rest it would take
how many years need be reducted
there has been much travel
without traveling too far
for being broke down
but progress has been made
in unsynchronized order
with sporadic routines
and inadequate sleep
a million deep breaths
to get through the day
because these weary bones are perpetual
controlled by mindless mishaps
and endeavors turning over in amazement
again, it is astonishing, and again
standing irresolute in the dark
before and after the switch is flicked
