Dance of the Restless Sleeper
I am not sure whether it is creativity or coffee,
that is keeping me awake.
My restless body turns over and over,
until I am dancing in my bed.
The sheets and blankets caught up in my sleepless flamenco,
until I finally give in;
get up;
write in a spiral notebook.
As if the words which flow from my pen will be so profound,
that they will be my closing act;
they will signal the final sleepless flamenco number,
before a night of rest for both me and my bed linens.
