A "smoke and mirror" trickery
with reasons always specious

The objective used in cavil;
it's faultfinding to annoy
Irritatingly uncivil,
disguised motives simply coy

Methods employed for subterfuge:
avoidance through artifice
Expedient wrangling is huge,
a clever, cunning device

Assertions offered for quibble
are mostly irrelevant
Mere cacophony and babble;
evasive but truculent
