Body of the People

Give me a body and the green laurel that crowns you.
Give me a body!
I have a heart of gold.
I am holding in my hand very tight
His cross which is also ours.
The world's life is filled with madness;
Sparks in the eyes that start fires.
The brave soldiers are still marching,
Soaked in blood of their buddies.
They carry them on their shoulders
To save their lives,
Yet others are left behind
On the battlefield,
Dead not buried.
But their pure souls
Are flying toward the sun.
