lauren_catherine

warm sighs adrift
atop August air
the sun hanging low
reflecting amber gems
/dry breaths and silent
footprints lost to
open fields,
as I listen to the wheat
sway lightly, melodically
/grabbing hold of the sounds
and my grass-stained dress
I lift my face to the sun
and just for a minute, or so,
I close my eyes
