Alone In Alabama

I'm here in Alabama and I'm all alone
Ya got me wait'n here a listen'n for the telephone
I'm count'n every minute since I've been away
Ya know I wrote another letter just the other day

I've never found it easy being on the road
Ya know this crazy life I'm live'ns really grow'n old
Today I started wish'n you had come along
So then I put some words together and I sang a song

Alone in Alabama and the sky is blue
A million stars are in the sky but all I see is you
Ya keep me feel'n right when things are going wrong
And we will always be together when I sing this song.

Now when we get to talk'n on the telephone
Ya know it won't be very lonely while I'm here alone
I'll be about a happy as a man can be
Until the day I get to see you back in Tennessee

Alone in Alabama and the sky is blue
A million stars are in the sky but all I see is you
Ya keep me feel'n right when things are going wrong
And we will always be together when I sing this song.
