A Fantasy from a Lie

A love once told me to
Imagine this
A kiss so soft it felt like a whisper's lick
In one type of imagining a
Lover's lie, to find everlasting an
Imagining of 'I'
A breast so full, lost in the everglade
Constricts this heart it is, so afraid
Endless possibilities the mind does soar
Falling hard to earth as
Life presses in
Knowing this love will never, ever be
My friend
Coming to grips with life's true reality
A softer love I could not find in my
Duality
As my mind searches for what could have been
I wrap my arms around myself as
I entwine within
Knowing in my heart this love was never meant to be
Also knowing now
The time will never be right for
You and me!
Also knowing we will both someday be free
In our hearts we will always know
Pure love could have been waiting
We!
As my mind continues to roam the
Touch and smell is in my nose as
I go to sleep with you on my mind
I imagine us, one more time
Even if it is a
Fantasy from a lie!

Poetry is what makes me whole and keeps me sane all at the same time. You are born a poet, a storyteller, it is a part of what you are, a great gift from God. You can be taught to put words on paper, only those with a poet's Soul can make you feel those words deeply! I hope all of you feel me. :-) more…
