SHE

She would not have your eyes...

Eyes that make me shy. Eyes that hypnotize me, for any other woman I might as well be blind.

She would not have your lips...

Lips that I have kissed, both softly with great tenderness, and with the aggressive passion we would both dearly miss.

She would not have your hair...

The hair I love brushing for you like a childhood best friend. The tresses you know drive me wild when you show me how they reach your hem. Hair where I can bury my face spooning you in the night, and still smell in the pillows we use to play-fight.

She would not have your body...

A body that weakens my knees like Superman's kryptonite. One that I would fight a thousand wars to defend the right to keep. Your ear, my allegiant confidante, while I whisper kissing your cheek. Prepare to surrender, and open the gates. Your feminine divine although freely given, I with passion always forcibly take.

She would not have your voice...

A voice that when I hear it, I need to stop and catch my breath. A voice that speaks softly to me at the moment before I sleep. The voice that cries out in our love making scheme; Si papi, Si. Un poco mas duro a me.

She would not have your heart...

A heart that beats for only me. A heart that is bigger than its human part. A heart that I know still bleeds for someone special in heaven who came before we could meet.

She would not have your courage...

The courage to pursue your dreams. To live a difficult life, to be a young mother, still yearning to be a wife, and everything else in-between.

She would not have your determination...

Determination that I see in your eyes when you look at me, the determination to stay by my side. Even when it seems I'm a bit distant, and I don't want you to be.

She would not have your strength...

The strength it takes to allow me to see a part of you that for everyone else is behind your walls of obscurity. The strength to make yourself vulnerable even when you weren't sure it was safe, and you could be.

She would not have your patience...

Patience to be a Tough-Love mother, and the difficulties that job surely lends. The patience to talk me through my hard times, I thought would never end.

She would not have a small piece of herself...

A small piece that I have loved as my own. The small piece of you that I desire to watch, help and guide, as she grows old. Always conscious of the tears I'll shed when she finds her own dreams hand to hold.

So I hope through this dictate you are able to more clearly see, that there exists no other woman on earth, that could be the SHE you are to me...

Numi

"Numi" is the pen-name I adopted in 2007 after a friend gifted me a copy of The Essential Rumi; by Coleman Barks. After reading some of my works, it was suggested that it reminded them of the works by Rumi. In no way do I align myself with this Great Master Poet, but I do feel a deep connection to his poetry, and the book of Essentials was my constant companion during a 5 year saga, where I was stranded in the Amazon Jungle of Peru, from 2010-2015. Everything in my collections were written during a 4 year period, 1999-2003. more…
