On loan

G-d loaned you to me

To love and be loved

I knew someday you'd return to Him

As all of us must do

He'd want you back

I'd have to let you go

My heart cries

"but why so soon?

I have much more love to share

So many adventures planned"

But still I treasure the time we had

About this poem

I wrote this for anyone who has lost someone they cared deeply about and for anyone who is about to lose someone.
