The Oath
“The Oath”
I do solemnly swear
A sacred vow
A pledge
To uphold, defend, and protect
Our constitution
I pledge allegiance to the flag
That I Will faithfully execute
A sacred commitment
The foremost obligation
The highest responsibility
Of leadership
Of the United States of America
The Office of President
Leader of all citizens
Regardless of race, belief, or love
Without prejudice
Without retribution
And to the republic
Of the United States
One country
Undivided
For which it stands
And will to the best of my ability
Have compassion for all my people
Respect their individuality
Foster their growth
Show reverence for
One nation under God
Preserve, Protect and Defend
The rights as ordained
By the framers as intended
Indivisible with liberty
The Constitution
Together we stand
This responsibility
To all our people
And justice for all.
Of the United States.
I do solemnly swear
“The Oath”
I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
“The Pledge of Alliance”
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
About this poem
I wrote these words in honor of both our constitution and flag. The oath of office of the president is a solemn, serious oath that has been taken by all our 46 presidents. It is an oath that a duly elected president must take and affirm before taking office. This oath is meant to preserve the Constitution and is one of the most important duties of the president.
