Dear Mr X

Dear Mr X
How has it been
It's been few years without a glance
Do you still wear that thick glasses
That everybody mocks but
I think it looked great on you
Do you still carry around that handkerchief
Cause you were so germophobic
I thought it was nice though
Do you still biting your upper lips when
You're nervous
You look so cute when you do that

Dear Mr X
I totally didn't walk two miles from home
Just to enter the same bus with you
I loved that brown jacket
And how you smelled like mint
I still wonder if it was your cologne
I think that buzz cut looked great on you
My suave nerdy
You didn't ask me to the last school dance
Well, didn't blame you
You don't even know me

Dear Mr X
I walked behind you a thousand times
In the hallway
I totally didn't stalk you, I promise
You always know what to do and
What to say
So eloquent, it was alluring
I even liked teeny weeny baby carrots
You always had for lunch
I wasn't looking at you the whole time
My eyes was just intrigued
by the side of your table

Dear Mr X
I have gotten older now
But I still think of you from time to time
I hope you are okay
I loved your everything
From the way you smiled and
Your ever gentle voice
But I hope you always keep that smile
On your beautiful bright face
And when things get hard
Always remember that you're stronger
Than all your foes
I will always remember and love you
You showed me the most beautiful feeling
Called Love unknowingly
Forever and always Yours truly
That little hallway girl

About this poem

It's a poem about unrequited love for a young girl who expresses her feelings through a letter to her childhood crush or should I say first love.
