A Million Lives
The sounds of time
The flashes of memories unknown
The pain unavoidable
The unprecedented future
A million times alive waiting for an end
Life keeps coming back
Footsteps taking the same route
Wishing to find peace
Memories I don't want to remember
Keep flashing through my mind like a movie
My smile fades before it appears
My heart is heavy with grief
Too unbearably pitiful
Waiting to walk through that beautiful end
Waiting to wave goodbye to misery
To embrace my weeping heart
A smile unexpected
A hand unfamiliar
An embrace that comforts
Suddenly life doesn't look so gloomy anymore
Slowly seeping into my cold heart
It feels like spring now
The sad times aren't completely finished
But slowly a smile makes life worth living
Not thinking too much of the pain
Not dwelling solely on the past
Unsure of what the future holds
But I'll happily walk down that road with you.
