Hands clasped dreams

Walking down this dusty road
I have passed by many along the way
Time passes and people move on
Helping one another at times but again time changes

How often do we meet someone but never see them
Are they being sincere when asking how you are
Not everyone gives the same impression though
Dreams form when people treat us a certain way
So they say that that is a crush and time will pass

Caught up in someone who made you feel safe
Like you have never been so close with anyone else
And once you do find it but fate tells you otherwise
So you know the feeling you want but it's out of reach
Plans move forward and so must you
Encounters maybe brief but they can make your heart flutter
Dawn may come and go and leave just a trace

Do you think that the gods are so cruel
Robbing you of the feeling you have always craved
Especially when it came from an unexpected place
Afterwards you keep looking for that feeling once again
My search has made me realize that I have to deserve
Some things will come to those who wait
