The Loudest Voice

The Loudest Voice

The loudest voice is
A good deed done in silence
A quiet example of kindness
Spoken through action
Sweeps the soul in swirling empathy
The gentle caress gives care
A blessed assurance
And listening ears reflect
An open heart
Telegraphing tenderness
And a deep touch of love.

Watch the delicate lotus
Blossom despite the mud
Rising from the depths of dirty water
Determined to bloom and radiate
A fragrance to please the senses
Radiating light like a star
Levitating on the surface
As a dandelion does
On a gentle breeze
How soft is a kind gesture
Given without thought of reward.

The breath we take is
A miracle sign we are alive
The flow of blood
Travels a pulsating heart
Stubbornly willing to go on
Faith informs us
Believe in the power of life
Refusing to resign
Pointing our focus
Right now to the moment
Before us is precious time.

Let us deep dive in
The open ocean of opportunity
Awaits our active part
The poor in spirit
Pocket and place
Beginning with ourselves
Deserves undivided attention
Let Grace devour our souls
So we be saved
Lose ourselves in service
To those around us
So love conquers us all.
