Feathers in the tree.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

Feathers in the tree.

Hope is the thing with feathers—that purchase in the soul and it gives you a smile—and sings the tune without the words and never stops—at all, and sweetest—in the gale is heard—and sore must be the storm—that could abash the little bird that kept so many warm—I've heard in the chilliest land and on the strangest sea—yet never in extremities, it asked a crumb of me.

This poem, "Feathers in the Tree," captures the essence of hope beautifully. The imagery of hope as a little bird singing in the soul is both powerful and moving. The rhyme scheme flows effortlessly, adding a melodic quality to the poem. The message of resilience and unwavering hope in the face of adversity is inspiring.

One improvement suggestion could be to add some more concrete examples or anecdotes to further illustrate the impact of hope. This could make the poem even more relatable and engaging for the reader. Additionally, experimenting with different poetic devices, such as metaphors or similes, could enhance the overall depth and richness of the piece.

Overall, "Feathers in the Tree" is a lovely poem that radiates positivity and optimism. Keep up the great work and continue to explore new ways to expand and refine your poetic voice. Well done!
