DRIVE-THRU RELIGION

Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)

DRIVE THRU RELIGION

Welcome to the Community Drive-thru Church
We will sooth and mend your hurts
We will show you God, yes right away
All you need to know in two minutes a day
We have a special on Scripture when you arrive
All for free (with a donation of $19.95)
Listen to this song We sing
It will teach you everything!

Hey how you doing Jesus ?
Won't you come and please us?
Tantalize our senses
While we sit our fences
We don't want to make a decision
We love our Drive-thru Religion

How do you like our Cross shaped marquee sign?
It'll be a minute, we have a little line
Just place your donation in The neon Jesus' hand
(To speed things along, I'm sure you understand)
Drive-up to the window, and blessings you'll receive
It doesn't even matter what you believe
Now a little music to lift your spirits higher
Brought to you by the Drive-thru choir

Hey were ya going Jesus
Now don't you try and tease us
We don't have a lotta time
Gave the church our every dime
We don't want to stop the engine
In our Drive-thru Religion

So you're at the window of the Drive-thru
As you can see we're just like you
We lie, steal, cheat, and cuss
You'll fit in nicely with us!
Don't you worry about the burning steeple
And hey, don't listen to them crazy people!
There's no need for you to repent!
What? Sorry no refund....the money's all been spent

Hey won't you help us Jesus!
The Chuch is trying to freeze us
Turning out the light
Stealing all our sight
Darkness is the only mission
Of a Drive-thru religion

One by one, you see them fall
In the church and in the mall
Drive-thru Christians change their mind
Nothing here to define
One by one across the land
They smack down the neon hand
Teaching others how to sing
Praises to the King!

Hey we're seeing Jesus
And He really sees us
And loves us all the more
He's the Way, the Truth, the Door
'Cause we've made our decision
Pulling out of a Drive-thru Religion
AMEN
