Return To Babble On
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
With intention to take steps forward,
Nearing a door.
To leave behind together a past.
For a future to have.
Brighter than ever had experienced before.
Some call for a stalling,
For this adventure to be explored.
With 'what ifs and their 'buts'.
Fearing the giving up,
Of their entitled ways...
To express the power that delays,
Who will benefit more...
From attention to receive and get.
If unknown not to reveal,
Promises made to one another.
All should conceal their lips.
If they should prevail then fail.
Giving the public ammunition.
Accusing each participant,
Of self serving ego tripping.
So...
They return to babble on.
Prolonging repeated rhetoric.
Squeezed of substance long gone.
Yet left to debate,
Over subject matter.
As if to lust and crave the taste,
Of a wasting to hear and await...
Another chance to deliberate,
What it would take to satisfy them all.
Before they again to pretend,
It is for the people and by the people...
Who are hoping to wish,
Outside the halls of justice.
Flaws and blemishes of appearances kept,
Would be less prioritized...
By those they elected to expect,
Them to represent the interest...
Of the people.
First and foremost.
Without deciding which image is best.
Regardless who is dressed,
Better to deliver to accept...
A pretentiousness made.
Publicly.
Although...
Difficult for them is the task,
To completely disguise...
Their love for decadence.
From those too wise.
Knowing more lies,
Will be fed to digest..
The unending feast of fiction to eat it!
With a belief the absence of reality,
Keeps their minds...
Forever nourished!
