In Search of Hope

Anouar AGGOUNE 2001 (Barbacha)

Devoid of light, I walked a path,
Yet I can hear other souls with me,
Confused by feelings, surmounted by wrath,
I hoped for a moment I could see.

To my surprise, I did not desire,
To see the path lying ahead,
But my heart and soul were on fire,
To recognize my companions instead.

Years and years walking the aisle,
Making turns whenever roads diverge,
All of us were walking, a single file,
To know which road others took was the urge.

It is a journey of a million miles,
I swore to reach the end one day,
What lies after all of these trials,
I shall reveal it when I find my way.
