what was i thinking

Robert loughran 1962 (Ireland)

What was i thinking or was thinking I,
are the lunatics running the asylum.
I couldn't stop myself a common cry
from plaintiff and committed,

Who runs the show.
Who calls the shot's
Does anyone know
Who is. who's not

Thought must be apprehended
but not by thought itself
the police policing the police
has never very well ended

The answers lie in silence,
that most active inactivity.
and wisdom in the quiet space between
thoughts on what should and should not be..

Try it for moment,
sink into that silent place,
Allow the mind relinquish
open heart and soul to grace.
