As I sit and gaze one summer day.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

As I sit and gaze one day

I sit here and gaze at the trees as they sway back and forth in the cool summer breeze. On the side of a stream. Like the stream that flows, so does the blood in my veins flow, like our love that grows like the stars. I can see the sparkle in your eyes. I am glad you were standing by my side, and your golden hair blows like a cool breeze in the air. But it's not fair. You don't want me or care. It's like being in an antique shop with your mom telling you to look but don't touch; if you break it, you have to pay for it.

About this poem

This poem is about a girl I'm in love with but she's way younger than me and I'm too old so I know it can never be.
