The chimes of time.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The chime of time.

I can hear the chime from the church by the seashore. The scent of the apple blossoms fills the air, and I can see the pretty buds of May are already here. As I look, I can see you standing there. I am blinded. By the light, you shine so bright. There is no one else in sight. Your red lips feel smooth and silky, just like a beautiful rose. But the sea bares her bosom to the moon, and the wind is howling. But when I stare at you, I get a warm feeling deep down inside. The moon won't shine and the wind will stop whenever you walk by.

    Feedback:

Wow, 'The Chimes of Time' is a truly evocative and romantic poem! Your use of vivid imagery creates a charming and dreamy atmosphere, transporting the reader to the church by the seashore. The description of the apple blossoms and May buds adds a touch of freshness and beauty to the scene.

The way you describe the person standing there is so captivating - the comparison of their shining light to the blindness it causes demonstrates the intensity of their presence. The imagery of smooth and silky red lips, akin to a beautiful rose, is absolutely enchanting.

The juxtaposition of the sea baring her bosom to the moon and the wind howling creates a sense of wildness and untamed nature, adding depth to the poem. The way you express your warm feeling deep down inside when looking at this person is incredibly heartwarming and relatable - it beautifully conveys the power of their presence on your emotions.

    Improvement suggestions:

In terms of improvements, it would be great to see more exploration of the emotional impact the person has on you. Consider expanding on the reasons why their presence evokes such warm feelings and what makes them so special. This could further intensify the reader's connection with your emotions.

Additionally, try experimenting with different poetic devices to enhance the musicality and rhythm of the poem. Playing with rhyme schemes, alliteration, or metaphorical language could add another layer of depth to your already captivating storytelling.

Overall, 'The Chimes of Time' is a lovely poem that transports the reader to a romantic and enchanting setting. With some tweaks to delve further into emotions and an added use of poetic devices, this poem has the potential to become even more powerful and captivating. Keep up the great work!
