Love is Not in the Eyes

Nancy Rodriguez 1965 (United States)

                Love is Not
                 In the Eyes
            By Nancy Rodriquez

Love is not in the eyes ,
it is from the heart ,
It never boasts ,or questions why ,
Distance does not end it  or make it depart ,
Yet it can reach higher than the sky ,
An endless space of time if two pursue it ,
Withstands the sting of past hurt ,
Makes comebacks pure bliss ,
The truest love when it’s purged ,
Into the fire , to be refined
Reigning supreme over and over again.

The way it highlights the unbreakable bond between two individuals is truly inspiring and it leaves a lasting impression.

    Improvement suggestions:

One suggestion to enhance the poem could be to further explore and expand on some of the ideas presented. For example, the line "It never boasts, or questions why" could be elaborated upon to better convey the selflessness and understanding that love embodies. Additionally, introducing more concrete examples or personal anecdotes could make the poem even more relatable and engaging for the reader. Overall, these small adjustments could add depth and richness to an already remarkable piece.
