You walk in your sleep

Matthew Blanchard 1963 (Florida)

You walk in your sleep
Like your'e tracking a doe
As light on your feet
And quiet as snow
You open doors
That aren't even there
Raise your feet
Like climbing a stair
While you're awake
I think I should mention
You're spending more time
In another dimension
You move your mouth
And hands in gestures
Should you be free
Or bound and sequestered
It raises the hackles
On the back of my neck
Should I put you in shackles
Before your first step
You always come back
Wherever you go
You follow the tracks
I leave in the snow
