Melancholy Mood

Among the fretful moorings of my mind
I search for clarity within discord,
as cadent tears assuage my sombre fears,
that propagate in melancholia.

Will this mood lighten and erase these thoughts,
infus’d into my mind from lassitude?
Can my mind create more omniscience,
to extirpate this melancholia?

Sapient and sagacious facets flood
like torrents of rapacious, greedy seas,
enlightening my perspicacity
and turning tides of melancholia.

In this autumnal twilight, born of years,
I’ve searched capacious chasms for answers,
thought buried in annals and canals of time,
to find the seeds of melancholia.

Is this melancholia a spoilsport
in today’s fun-loving social nuance?
No! I say – as artist ‘da Vinci’ say,
‘It’s a prerequisite for artistry!’

This poem describes well what is going on in the mind of the speaker. The diction chosen is quite suitable for what it wants to convey, that the situation is serious.
A good poem that tells a lot.
