Life (My Attempt At A Sonnet)

Today I stare up at the midday sun
And I'm thinking, I have felt so much pain
I begin to think of those days again
And all of the times when we had such fun
Youth can be such a fickle thing to one
Then there's those who forget what is to gain
Though as the sun rises we think of rain
But as the sun sets all our days are done
When I was much younger I felt so bold
As I felt night's breath upon my bare neck
I remember those days we felt the heat
It's a shame when the night makes one feel old
Yet everyone has days when they're a wreck
I long to walk along in my bare feet
