Angels

Verlene Y Tyree 1963 (Chicago)

Security grabbed me
Then spun me around
Put retainers on my legs and wrist
Then laid me down

I’m pleading with them
but no human answered my cry
I had to use the bathroom
They’re ignoring me, Why?

Something told me
I can get the retainers off
Now move very slowly
Don’t open your mouth

I relieved myself
And got back on that bed
Didn’t feel any anger
Only gratitude instead

Looked up at my Lord
Smiled and nodded my head. Covered!
