The rain fell from the sky.

The rain fell from the sky.

I am looking out my window, watching the rain come down. No one understands my pain or why I frown. I can't walk, but I can talk and feel pain and sorrow. I have to look ahead to tomorrow. My pain will not heal. I have to accept what was given to me, and I know in my heart there is a reason. But I will not cry. Because all my friends are always by my side, I never have to run or hide. Because God is always on my side.

A personal expression of sorrow if not elevated by poetic language, is only sentimentality. Seems churlish to say, when someone is in pain.

Sometimes my disability gets me down. So writing's poems brings me back up.
